On my way to Cambodia, that's where. Leaving in the morning for a month of shooting. Not really quite sure what i'm getting myself into, but I'll be doing some documentary work for an NGO (and for myself) along the coast near Kompot, and then I will be attending a workshop and photo festival in Siem Reap. The workshop is being hosted by the VII agency and will be under the guidance of a seasoned war photog. While there, through the NGO, i'll have access to a homeless children's shelter and orphanage, documenting the lives of the children under their supervision and care. This is not my usual cup of tea, so i'm quite nervous about the whole thing. As a few of you know, i never ask for permission before i take a photo. All of my images are captured without the consent or knowledge of the subject. This will not be the case in Cambodia. I'll be talking to nearly everyone i shoot, interacting with them, getting to know them, their families, their past and future... you know, actually documentary stuff. I'm hoping for a chance or two in Phnom Penh to do my sniping thing, but we'll just have to wait and see.
