Beauty Reflected

The photo that started it all. The first shot off my 4th roll of film with my (then) spankin new eos300. Up until this point, taking photos of people had always made me quite nervous, not only for fear of being caught but from never being able to capture that essence which is so crucial to a good candid/street photo. The story behind this particular capture is much more interesting then what i have the time or strength to present here today. The real story for me was not this woman necessarily, but the reaction of the people around her, to her. About 50 frames were exposed in all, most shot of her back from that rail behind her. It's amazing to me the face people would put on in realization of what they were seeing. Of course, that it was taking place in the very conservative town of Stuttgart, Germany, in the middle of a mall might well have contributed to their astonishment/disgust. Hopefully in about 3 weeks i can share the whole story and the rest of the images from that day.

For now, Earthy is off to bed so he can wake up in 4 hours, fly to Romania and fulfill a dream. (see journal)
